Sup!
Pip and I spent lots of time paddle boarding together. Sheโs very quick, as soon as thereโs a head wind Iโm 50m behind. Throughout the voyage we debriefed almost all 21 days of outward bound.
One day we decided to paddle around the island. Having not really checked the weather we flew out of the channel with a tail wind, dodging the kids sailing optimists, only stopping to talk to SV Alfredo (used to be called Able Rest) which Pips parents used to own. The water was clear around the other side of the island and we spent time dodging the coral boomies. At the other end of the island, a boulder bank stretched for hundreds of metres, barely covered by water. When we figured we couldnโt go around it we found the deepest channel and sat on the noses of our boards so that our fin was out of the water. Pip got through touching the bottom a few times but I was more lucky. On the other side it was still shallow for 100m so we ended up carrying our boards over the sand. A hole opened up and we were off paddling again. The water was refreshing as we went for a mid paddle swim then there was a tail wind to blow us back into the marina.
